What is the most beautiful country in the world? Is Pakistan a contender?

What is the most beautiful country in the world?

What is the most beautiful country in the world? A question many people, regardless of age or location, often wonder, and our mind drifts in search of an answer to this great question. I believe there shouldn’t just be one response to this, but people will classify the word ‘beautiful’ in many different ways. Some may refer to beautiful art. Others may see it more in the beautiful cultures or the food. Some may even argue that beauty lies in the infrastructure. On the other hand, I regard it as natural beauty solely for this travel blog article.

There are landscapes, mountains, lakes and incredible scenery, which, funnily enough, Pakistan has a lot of. Does Pakistan possess the most natural beauty in the world, and if so, is it the most beautiful country in the world? Let’s explore.

I’d also like to add that I am in no way an expert. This is all my personal opinion, and I’d also like to stress that I am in no way qualified to give out this award as such. Despite being fortunate enough to travel to 44 countries, we are still way off in our ambition to travel to every country in the world. However, I can only speak on my own experiences and have narrowed down what we think, and spoiler alert Pakistan IS a contender for the most appropriate response to this great question; What is the most beautiful country in the world?

This question has been on my mind since we started to travel, and Pakistan became a solid contender, even after just a few days. And like I said in the previous travel blog, we haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg yet, as this is still our first day in Skardu, Pakistan. That first day genuinely had me believing that Pakistan is the most beautiful country in the world, and every time I watch this travel vlog episode, I am still in awe! How gorgeous is Pakistan, yet no one ever talks about it? Hence, I’m bringing it up as this travel vlog reignited that question. What is the most beautiful country in the world?

Pakistan, for sure, is a contender, and I’ll tell you why. It’s safe; we know that. Read up statistics online, and you’re more likely to get stabbed in London than harmed in Pakistan. The covid rates were also less, especially at the exact time when Pakistan was placed on the red list. That was around Eid time. Strange. The food is excellent, we for sure know about that. The people seemed great, and the accommodation was pretty cheap. Everything is well within a backpacking budget. Now I feel as if I’m moving away from the topic on hand; let’s get back into it. The natural wonder. Wow, o Wow! I am not underplaying that. Even if you’ve only watched a few of our Pakistan travel vlogs on YouTube or our website, I’m sure you’ll agree. After all, this video highlights a small portion of it. Trust me, there was more, but we had to clip down. Welcome to the world’s most beautiful country: Pakistan!

What is the most beautiful country in the world?

I love how this video starts with the drone footage going over Skardu, Pakistan and let me remind you that the location of this exact bridge is just a bridge. It’s not the main tourist attraction. It’s just a bridge over some rapids and is the platform where you can enjoy jaw-dropping views from. You’re welcome!

See, just a bridge.

This one was a tricky edit because, as I alluded to before, the 360-degree views were outstanding! You turn left, massive mountain, you turn a bit more left, enormous mountain, you turn a bit more left, gorgeous valley, you turn a bit more left, massive mountain, you turn a bit more left, and you’re where you started, but you’re still like, WOW and then the whole spin cycle starts again. You will honestly get lost enjoying the beauty and the mountains of North Pakistan. It’s such a chill location where you can truly immerse yourself within nature and visit quickly before over-tourism settles in.

I am seriously not underplaying this. We have been fortunate enough to visit 44 countries but if I knew that my heritage was from one of the most beautiful countries in the world, I would have been owning that instead of shying away. You live, you learn, eh.

Anyway, if you want to know the answer to ‘What is the most beautiful country in the world? Then I recommend you get over to Pakistan and see for yourself. The beautiful landscapes may win you over as they’ll stay with you for a lifetime.

USEFUL TIPS FOR BACKPACKING PAKISTAN:

How to enjoy the most beautiful country in the world

This sounds like it would be a complicated journey, but in truth, it’s pretty simple. As is the norm in this area of Pakistan, you will first need to head to Skardu, Pakistan. Skardu will be the central point for a lot of your excursions. Skardu certainly was for us, as you can tell from the numerous videos we have filmed there. We documented our flight from Islamabad to Skardu, showing you how to do that journey.

Likely, your hotel will pick you up from Skardu international Pickup, and we recommend you visit Shangri-La Lake, Soq valley and Upper Kachuara lake as we did on our first day in Skardu, Pakistan. The driving distances are long; PLEASE do not be over-ambitious.

Day trips around Skardu will start at around 5,000 PKR for a car or 7,000 PKR for a Prado, and both prices include the driver, vehicle and fuel cost. The best tip for Skardu Pakistan is to take your time. It may be tempting to cross everything off in a day or two, but please allow yourself five days to immerse yourself in everything. There is a lot to see.

Typically in Skardu, Pakistan, your hotel will most likely be where you have your meals. Especially if you opt for a remote hotel as we did.

Enjoy! and don’t forget to tag Calamity Travels on Instagram. We’d love to see if you enjoyed backpacking Pakistan as much as we did!
